Under the auspices of Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and Prof. Moustafa Abdel Naby, President of Minya University, and under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Saeed Abul-Ghar, Vice President of Fayoum University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Essam El-Din Sadeq Farhat, Vice President of Minya University for Education and Student Affairs, and the supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector. The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized a comprehensive development convoy in the village of Basqloun in Al-Adwa Center in Minya Governorate, under the supervision of Prof. Assem El-Esawy, Acting Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Mohamed Safaa, General Director of Hospitals at Fayoum University, in cooperation with the University Hospital and the General Administration for Community Service, on Tuesday 26/7/ 2022 in the village health unit in the presence of Prof. Emad Abdel Salam, Media advisor to the president of the university, Ms. Suzan Abdel Qader, General Director of Community Service sector, and Mr. Ahmed Khalaf Abdel A Ziz, head of the Al-Adwa Center, and a number of administrators at Minya University and Fayoum University.

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, stated that the organization of the convoy comes from the university’s role in providing its medical and awareness services to the local community, and to achieve the principle of citizenship and acceptance of the other, and the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Fayoum University in achieving medical, training and awareness services for all citizens, whether in Fayoum Governorate or in other governorates of the Republic, and that the convoy comes in the role of fruitful cooperation between Fayoum University and Minya University.

Prof. Mohamed Saeed Abu Al-Ghar, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, indicated that the convoy included providing medical services, and distinguished doctors at Fayoum University participated in it, and a symposium to raise awareness of the principle of citizenship and acceptance of the other, as well as training on small projects.

He added that the medical convoy provided examination and treatment for 850 cases of the villagers, and provided them with the necessary treatment free of charge, in the specialties of internal medicine, orthopedics, surgery, nose and ear, and Minya University participated in the specializations of children and dermatology.

During the convoy, a symposium was held on how to make yogurt and cheese, in which Dr. Wedad Azab, Faculty of Agriculture, Fayoum University, trained a number of village women on how to make cheese and yogurt, and a symposium was organized on citizenship and acceptance of the other and deepening the value of national belonging and patriotism, in which Dr. Emad Abdel Salam, Advisor to the President of the University for Media Affairs lectures.

On the sidelines of the convoy, a football match was organized between the Fayoum University and Minya University teams. At the end of the day, the villagers thanked Fayoum University for organizing this convoy and providing them with medical services.
