Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University,

the Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the University’s Quality Assurance and Strategic Planning Center, held a seminar titled “Course Description,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Tamer Magdy Issa, Director of the Quality Assurance and Strategic Planning Center.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development;

Asst. Prof. Dr. Doaa Hilal, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research;

Dr. Shaimaa Abdel Gawad, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit;

and several faculty members. The seminar was held on Monday, 18 March 2024, at the Faculty.

Prof. Dr. Tamer Magdy Issa discussed the benefits of course description in enhancing educational quality, differentiating between active and traditional learning strategies, and detailing methods and tools. He also explained how to design outcome-based programs and meet general and academic standard indicators.
|
He highlighted key concepts regarding program and course description, intended learning outcomes, graduate attributes in terms of knowledge, skills, and values, and the content executed by the institution, including curricula, courses, and activities. He clarified the requirements of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in academic standards and reference programs for accreditation.
