| Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hamzawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy – Fayoum University,

| and under the supervision of Dr. Shaimaa Abdel Gawad, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit,

| The Quality Assurance Unit organized a workshop on Saturday, October 12, 2024, titled “Course Description According to the National Academic Reference Standards (NARS) for Pharmaceutical Education,” for faculty members and teaching assistants, held online via Microsoft Teams.
|
| Dr. Shaimaa Abdel Gawad, Director of the Quality Unit, delivered the workshop, covering the concept of course description within the competency-based education framework according to national standards issued by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation.
|
| She explained the relationship between course and program descriptions, explored targeted competencies, components of the course description template, and how courses contribute to developing the distinguished pharmacist graduate profile.
|
| The workshop also included practical examples on how to complete course description templates and how to prepare matrices attached to each course.
|
| It concluded with key recommendations, including the need to align course descriptions with the program description.
