Fayoum University witnessed a remarkable development in the results of the global Scimago ranking of research and academic institutions for the year 2023, as the Fayoum University ranking rose this year to the 5553 position compared to the 6578 position last year at the global level, as well as at the local level, as the university’s ranking rose this year to the 22nd position compared to the 30th place last year at the level of Egyptian universities.

Fayoum University was also ranked among the universities included in the list of the first quarter, Q1, within the top 25% in the index (societal impact), as it ranked 3973 globally and 18 locally.

At the level of scientific disciplines, Fayoum University has won the first place locally and in the Arab world in the field of psychology, and the second place locally in the field of humanities and literature, and in the field of environmental sciences.

The Scimago ranking of research and academic institutions is one of the most famous international classifications, and it relies in its evaluation of universities on 3 indicators, namely: research performance (50%), innovation outputs (30%), and societal impact (20%), and it falls under these indicators 17 sub-indicator for performance evaluation.
