Faculty of Social Work Organizes the 9th Employment Forum and Alumni Day

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, witnessed the activities of the Ninth Employment Forum and the Alumni Day organized by the Faculty of Social Work in the presence of Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Assem El Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, , Prof. Ahmed Hosny, Dean of the College, Vice Deans, Director of the University’s Alumni Follow-up Center, faculty members, a number of representatives of labor market institutions, and graduates, today, Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, praised the efforts made by the Faculty of Social Work at the academic level, in addition to its keenness to achieve continuous communication with labor market institutions working in all fields, with the aim of providing training and job opportunities, whether for students or graduates of the college.
He stressed that joining the labor market requires exerting more efforts and continuing education and training to obtain suitable job opportunities.
Prof. Arafa Sabry said that the partnership carried out by the Faculty of Social Work with civil society institutions works to develop the skills of graduates and improve their various experiences in order to compete strongly in the labor market.
He pointed out that Fayoum University does not work in isolation from society, as it is entrusted with developing the capabilities of graduates in all fields, for the benefit of society and all its members, directing students to the importance of permanent communication with the university and the college even after graduation, whether by enrolling in postgraduate studies, or by providing different experiences of other students.
Prof. Assem El-Essawy, confirmed that Fayoum University is fully prepared to provide workshops and training courses, with the aim of developing the skills and experiences of all its students and graduates to qualify well for the labor market, explaining that the employment forums and the graduates’ day are a true reflection of the university’s efforts to communicate with its students and graduates.
And Prof. Ahmed Hosny, said that the institutions and entities participating in the forum have provided 370 training opportunities for fourth year students and graduates, in addition to providing 81 job opportunities for graduates.
He also indicated that the college seeks to achieve a number of goals that include activating the partnership between the college and civil society institutions, and continuous communication between the college and the graduates to achieve the goals related to the quality of graduates, coordination between the college graduates and civil society institutions, to provide training and employment opportunities, monitoring the needs of the labor market and qualifying graduates, to meet these needs, reduce the gap between the requirements of the labor market and the skills of graduates, train students to master the skills of the labor market, and help the graduate to establish small projects according to the necessary feasibility studies, with the aim of working in a number of fields including the school field, youth care, the medical field, and other categories, private sector in the field of family and childhood, social entrepreneurship, and private sector institutions, in addition to working in the field of social marketing and the civil sector.
And Dr. Ola Abdel-Rahim, Director of the Alumni Follow-up Center at the university, said that the employment forums for graduates and introductory meetings for students organized by the Alumni Follow-up Center and its affiliated units in all university faculties work to identify the requirements of the labor market, develop skills, enhance self-confidence, and promote diverse experiences. Graduates stress the need for self-development, increasing academic and training knowledge, and showing persistence and determination in order to achieve the desired success.
On the sidelines of the Ninth Employment Forum and the Alumni Day at the College of Social Work, the University President and the deputies inaugurated the exhibition, which included handicrafts, accessories, ceramics, handmade carpets, furnishings and woodwork.
In conclusion, the shield of the college was presented to the president of the university, the deputies, and the director of the alumni follow-up center at the university. The top graduates of the college were also honored.
