Fayoum Governor of and The University President Witness the Harvest Season of the Wheat Crop

Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansary, Governor of Fayoum, and Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, witnessed the “wheat harvest season in the farms of the Faculty of Agriculture in Demo and Dar Al-Ramed” in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Emad, Deputy Governor of Fayoum, Prof. Mohamed Farouk Ali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Mahmoud Ali Abdel-Fattah, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Vice Deans of the Faculty, Dr. Mohamed El-Tony, the official spokesman for Fayoum Governor, Undersecretary of the Ministry Agriculture, the Head of the City Council, and a number of faculty members, on Sunday, 14/5/2023.
Where they reviewed the expected statistics of the wheat crop and the quality of production, pointing out that the university cultivates wheat every year and the harvest is supplied to the mills. The Governor of Fayoum and the President of the University reassured the good workflow of the farm, and praised the effort exerted in all sectors of the farm. During the visit, the attendees inspected the production farm of animals and sheeps.
The visit comes within the framework of the follow-up to the work of improving and developing the units of the Agricultural Research and Experiment Center of the College of Agriculture, in addition to the follow-up of crops and scientific research that is applied on the farm.
It is worth noting that the area of the Dar Al-Ramad farm is about 24 acres, of which 8 acres are cultivated with wheat for experiments and production. The production of one acre is about 18 ardebs, and the rest of the farm is research experiments in various crops and vegetables such as beets, beans, tomatoes, and others.
The area of Demo farm is about 100 acres, including 60 acres of vegetable production, used for research experiments between irrigation, breeding and production treatments. It is planted with field crops such as wheat, corn, and fruit farms such as pears, grapes, mangoes, apricots, plums, and pomegranates. There are also 8 greenhouses to produce different types of vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and zucchini. There are also areas planted with onions and sugar beets, in addition to farms for animal and poultry production.
The farm also includes farms for fish production, and all services on the farm serve the educational and research process for all disciplines.
