Youth and National Security Symposium

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, witnessed the Youth and National Security Symposium organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in cooperation with the Youth and Politicians Coordination, under the supervision of Prof. Assem Al-Essawy, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in the presence of Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and a number of deans of faculties, faculty members, employees and students, today, Tuesday February 25, 2025, in the conference hall in the dome.
The symposium was attended by Representative Emad Khalil, Member of the House of Representatives for the Youth Parties and Politicians Coordination, Representative Ahmed Fawzy, Member of the Senate for the Coordination, Mrs. Eman Talaat, Member of the Coordination, and Dr. Ibrahim Ramadan, Member of the Coordination.
Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata praised the efforts made by the Coordination of Youth Parties and Politicians in terms of raising youth awareness of current political issues and the risks related to Egyptian national security. He called on youth to be aware and responsible towards their country and to combat and refute rumors, stressing the keenness of the university administration to build a new generation of youth capable of assuming senior positions in the Egyptian state.
For his part, Prof. Assem Al-Essawy stressed the importance of preserving Egyptian national security and protecting the country from the dangers surrounding it from all sides. He pointed out that youth are a fundamental pillar in building and developing homelands, so they must be developed, their minds built and put on the right path to be able to benefit their society in the near future.
He called on youth to the necessity of continuous learning, acquiring knowledge and being familiar with what is happening around them from sound sources of information.
The debuty Emad Khalil explained that the Coordination of Youth Parties and Politicians was launched in 2018 and includes youth from various political orientations and movements. He also spoke about the current political and economic situation, pointing to the major role played by Egypt towards the Palestinian , by supporting the Palestinian brothers, rejecting calls for displacement, and demanding a two-state solution according to the 1967 borders.
He presented the steps taken by the political leadership in its quest to rebuild the state, develop the infrastructure, and arm the Egyptian army to become one of the strongest armies in the region.
The deputy Ahmed Fawzy pointed out that the symposium comes within the framework of the "Build Your Awareness" initiative launched by the Coordination in cooperation with Egyptian universities, and aims to raise youth awareness of the risks and threats targeting Egyptian national security and instill the idea of belonging and loyalty to the homeland in the souls of young people.
He also talked about the initiatives launched by the Egyptian state recently, such as the Hayah Karema Initiative, which contributed to improving the lives of millions of Egyptians in the most needy villages and hamlets in the sectors of health, education, social solidarity, and public services.
Mrs. Eman Talaat talked about the history of the Egyptian state as one of the oldest sovereign states with a great history and a distinguished geographical location that makes it a target for many countries.
She also discussed the efforts made by the state to support young people and give them legitimate spaces and channels to express their opinions and ideas and integrate them into the decision-making and decision-making system.
Dr. Ibrahim Ramadan stressed that technological wars aim to destroy and confuse the minds of the youth, and he also noted the need to be careful and verify fake news, contribute to correcting misconceptions, limit their spread and deal with them among members of society.
At the end of the symposium, the guests were honored and given the university shield in appreciation of their efforts.
