The 11th Forum for Ideal Students and the 4th Forum for Goodwill Students at Egyptian Universities

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, witnessed the opening ceremony of the 11th Summit for Ideal Students and the 4th Forum for Goodwill Ambassadors at Egyptian Universities. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and hosted by Fayoum University under the supervision of Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. The event was attended by Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, Cultural Relations, and Research; Prof. Assem Fouad El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Wael Tobar, General Coordinator of Student Activities and Chairman of the Jury for the Preliminary Stage of the Competition; and a number of deans of faculties, members of the Jury, and participating students from various universities. The event was held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in the conference hall of the Central Library.
Prof. Hatata welcomed the participating delegations from various Egyptian universities, explaining that participation in such competitions builds a student's character and provides them with the necessary experience for teamwork and greater integration into society. He noted that all participating students are distinguished morally and academically, which has enabled them to compete for the title of ideal student at the level of Egyptian universities.
He directed the students to maximize their potential by communicating with their peers and exchanging experiences and ideas.
Prof. Sherif El-Attar emphasized that Fayoum University's hosting of the competition for the eleventh year reflects its belief in the importance and value of the competition, which instills the values of diligence, perseverance, and the combination of academic excellence and participation in student activities. He also praised the role of the Goodwill Ambassadors students, an initiative aimed at spreading the values of tolerance and cooperation among the youth at Egyptian universities and working to build an aware, responsible generation capable of contributing to building the future of this nation.
He stressed the need to continue such competitions, which work to develop the minds of the youth and put them on the right path; the youth are the leaders of the future and the engine of development.
Prof. Wael Tobar explained that the competition evaluation includes several criteria, including general appearance, presentation skills and content, innovation, general knowledge, CV, and essay. He pointed out that the competition includes several tests, including a written test in computer science and general knowledge, personality traits and the ability to communicate, academic excellence and general knowledge, student activities, and English and Arabic language tests.
Student Mohammed Khaled Mariz, Goodwill Ambassador, and student Youssef Abu Omeira, Deputy Goodwill Ambassador, presented the project they implemented that won last year's Goodwill Ambassadors Initiative. The project aimed to assist people with visual impairments (Technovision), which is a medical glasses that helps people with visual impairments move around without an escort. The glasses help them navigate the road and identify any obstacles they may encounter, as well as identify people if the person has previously known them. Mahmoud Seif, President of the University Student Union, spoke about the university administration's significant support for the Student Union and its support for student activities at various levels. He emphasized the Fayoum University Student Union Council's commitment to overcoming all obstacles facing all participating students and providing them with a comfortable and enjoyable time throughout the competition.
The competition will run from April 12 to 16, 2025. The final stage of the competition will be chaired by Prof. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the preliminary stage will be chaired by Prof. Wael Tobar. The Goodwill Ambassadors Competition will be chaired by Prof. Ahmed Abdel Aziz Bakoush, Professor at the Faculty of Arts. Eighty male and female students will participate in the Ideal Students Competition and 31 male and female students representing 21 Egyptian universities in the Goodwill Ambassadors Competition.
