Fayoum University made its first appearance in the Russian Round University Ranking (RUR) for 2025, ranking 12th locally among Egyptian public universities and 1008th globally out of 1237 international universities.

The university also achieved a distinguished ranking in the sustainability criterion, ranking 9th locally and 926th globally. It also ranked 13th locally and 991st globally in the teaching criterion. Regarding scientific research, it ranked 17th locally and 924th globally. It also ranked 26th locally and 1073rd globally in the international diversity criterion. It is worth noting that the Round University Ranking (RUR) is an international university ranking issued by the Russian RUR Foundation since 2010. It evaluates more than 1,237 universities from 85 countries around the world, and is based primarily on four evaluation criteria: teaching quality (40%), scientific research (40%), international diversity (10%), and sustainability (10%). Each criterion consists of sub-indicators such as the faculty-to-student ratio, the university's academic reputation, the number of research citations, international visibility of research, the number of international students, and other indicators.
