Under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, announced that Fayoum University has achieved remarkable progress in the Spanish Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, according to the July 2025 edition.

According to the ranking's data, Fayoum University has risen to 1391st place among 32,000 universities from 200 countries worldwide, advancing approximately 771 places from the previous edition, where it ranked 2162nd .

He added that the university also ranked among the top 100 universities in Africa and the Arab world, ranking 65th among 2,095 African universities included in the ranking, and 89th among 1,336 Arab universities, as stated in the ranking.

At the local level, the university ranked 20th among Egyptian public and private universities.The university also achieved significant progress in the three main ranking criteria. It climbed to 8539th place in the university's website content assessment criteria, including reach, viewership, and external links (previous ranking: 8545), with a relative weight of 50%.

The university also advanced to 1220th place in the research excellence criterion (previous ranking: 1222), with a relative weight of 40%. This criterion measures the number of most cited research papers published by Fayoum University (top cited papers).

The university maintained its ranking in the transparency/openness criterion, ranking 1799th , with a relative weight of 10%. This criterion measures the number of most cited researchers.
