Continuation of the Leadership Preparation Camp Activities at the University Colleges' Level

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, received Maj. Gen. Dr. Eng. Hafez Mahmoud, Former Assistant Chief of Operations of the Armed Forces. The meeting was held as part of the Leadership Preparation Camp, under the supervision of Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. The camp is organized by the university under the title: "Youth Leadership in Times of Challenges - Aware Youth, Strong Nation," from August 10 to 13, 2025.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, Cultural Relations, and Research; Prof. Ahmed Hosny, Former Dean of the Faculty of Social Work; Prof. Wael Tobar, General Coordinator of Student Activities; Prof. Salwa Ahmed Fouad, Director General of Youth Welfare at the university; and a number of faculty members, administrators, and students participating in the camp. The meeting took place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in the university's Grand Conference Hall. Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan welcomed Maj. Gen. Hafez Mahmoud to Fayoum University, praising his keenness to visit the university for a second time and participate in awareness lectures aimed at correcting misconceptions and explaining the security challenges facing the Egyptian state.
He emphasized that students are the hope and leaders of the future, and therefore the university is keen to organize activities and seminars that raise their awareness and develop their understanding and skills in various fields.
Maj. Gen. Hafez Mahmoud delivered a lecture titled "The Security and Strategic Challenges Facing the Egyptian State and the Role of National Awareness in Protecting National Security," during which he addressed Egypt's unique position and status, which Allah has bestowed upon it and which is mentioned in the Holy Quran.
He also discussed attempts to cast doubt on ancient Egyptian civilization and history, attempts to destroy Egyptian identity through social media, and the dangers of mobile phone addiction and its repercussions on individual isolation from society. He addressed some misconceptions about the Rafah crossing and the entry of aid, in addition to discussing Egypt's capabilities in the field of military manufacturing, including armored vehicles, drones, and naval arsenals. He praised the superiority of Egyptian pilots in the October 1973 War and their rapid mastery of French Rafale fighter jets in a short period of time.
He also discussed Egypt's Vision 2030, particularly regarding the development of slums, the establishment of new cities, and the importance of the New Administrative Capital and New Alamein City, which is expected to become a global tourism capital. He also discussed the state's efforts to clear them of approximately 20 million mines.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata presented the Fayoum University shield to Major General Hafez Mahmoud in honor and appreciation of his efforts.
