The Second Forum "Awareness of Cybersecurity Issues" at the Faculty of Education

Under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Arafa Sabry, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, attended the second forum organized by the Faculty of Education under the title: "Awareness of Cybersecurity Issues - An Educational Vision." The forum was attended by Prof. Amal Gomaa Abdel Fattah, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ahmed Ali Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Abdel Nasser El-Sherif, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Ola Abdel Rahim, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and a number of former deans and faculty members. The forum was held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Faculty. Prof. Arafa Sabry emphasized the importance of teamwork to achieve the desired success. He also emphasized the importance of the forum, which aims to discuss topics of national security, cybersecurity, and data protection mechanisms, both at the institutional and individual levels. He also emphasized the need to maintain backup copies of data to protect against cyberattacks. Therefore, the forum's role is to highlight ways to preserve private data at all levels.
Prof. Sherif El-Attar also pointed out that the importance of the forum comes in light of the successive electronic developments, some of which enable the hacking of others' data. Therefore, raising awareness of these issues and how to deal with them is crucial to protecting private data and information.
Prof. Amal Gomaa continued, saying that discussing cybersecurity issues is a modern necessity and a basic requirement for raising awareness. It is a pressing issue for the education sector, especially regarding the dangers of cyber extortion. She emphasized that the College of Education is planning to hold a series of awareness seminars for students on how to deal with such issues, noting that (17) research papers will be presented during the forum, covering all aspects of cybersecurity. Prof. Ahmed Ali also emphasized the importance of the conference in raising awareness about data protection and protecting young people from cyber risks. Prof. Ola Abdel Rahim expressed her hope that the conference would yield effective scientific and ethical recommendations that would contribute to reducing the phenomena of hacking and cyberbullying.
