The Egypt Award for Government Excellence Announces the Results of the 1st Edition of Fayoum University Award for Internal Excellence

The Egypt Award for Government Excellence held a meeting of the Fayoum University Award for Internal Excellence in its first edition for 2025. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Seddik, Director of Evaluation and Quality for the Egypt Award for Government Excellence; Prof. Arafa Sabry, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, Cultural Relations, and Research and Head of the University's Internal Awards Team; and Prof. Mona Hagras, Assistant Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities. The meeting was also attended by members of the jury, Prof. Mahmoud Zaky, Former President of Tanta University; and Prof. Mohamed Abd Rabbo, Dean of the Productivity and Quality Institute at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport. The meeting discussed the results of the evaluation process and followed up on the judging process for the university's internal awards.
The visit to the university included a meeting with Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, who emphasized the university's commitment to deepening and spreading the culture of excellence by activating the university's internal excellence system. This contributes to achieving development and improving administrative and service performance at the university and its various sectors, in line with the sustainable development plan "Egypt Vision 2030."
Prof. Arafa Sabry emphasized the university's keenness to participate in the national award "Egypt Award for Government Excellence" in previous cycles, and its endeavor to implement the internal excellence system, which contributes to enhancing and sustaining institutional excellence. He praised the continuous support of the award administration throughout all its various phases, noting the success of the capacity-building and qualification programs for university staff, which resulted in the training and qualification of 37 excellence ambassadors and deputies across 18 colleges on the government excellence system, in addition to the formation of evaluation teams comprising more than 40 evaluators from the university's faculty and administrative staff.
Dr. Ahmed Seddik also commended the university leadership's interest and commitment to implementing the internal excellence system, emphasizing that investing in academic and administrative staff represents the true core of the excellence process and its most important sustainable outcomes. He praised the support of the Supreme Council of Universities as a strategic partner in the excellence process at universities.
Prof. Mona Hagrass highlighted the great importance that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities attach to supporting and disseminating the concepts of institutional excellence within educational institutions, considering them a fundamental pillar for developing academic and administrative performance and enhancing the quality of educational services. During the meeting, the award implementation phases were reviewed, starting with the training phase for the work teams, ambassadors of excellence, and evaluators. The phase included writing nomination applications, which saw the participation of 18 colleges. This was followed by desk evaluation, with seven colleges qualifying for the field visits phase, and finally, a discussion of the final results and recommendations. The arbitration process resulted in three colleges qualifying to represent Fayoum University in the Egypt Award for Government Excellence in its next cycle, 2026: Medicine, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, and Pharmacy.
