First Edition of Fayoum University Internal Excellence Award Celebration 2025

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, witnessed the celebration of the University's Internal Excellence Award in its first edition 2025. The celebration was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, and Prof. Moustafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, The ceremony was held under the supervision of Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, Cultural Relations and Research and Head of the University's Internal Awards Team. The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Assem Al-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Sherif Al-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and a number of deans of faculties, the Internal Awards Team, internal residents, ambassadors of excellence, and their deputies from across the university's various faculties. The ceremony was held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in the Grand Celebration Hall.
Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata explained that the Egypt Government Excellence Award aims to achieve the development strategy and strive to establish an efficient and effective administrative apparatus that contributes to the implementation of governance concepts. He noted that the Egyptian state is taking serious steps to advance towards the ranks of advanced countries in various fields.
He emphasized that Fayoum University's participation in the award comes within the framework of the partnership between the Supreme Council of Universities and the Egypt Government Excellence Award, with the aim of localizing the concept of competition among members of the state's administrative apparatus, developing the capabilities of employees, and improving institutional performance through the application of quality and innovation standards.
Prof. Arafa Sabry also indicated that Fayoum University Internal Excellence Award represents a positive incentive for the continuous development and improvement of the administrative apparatus across the university's various faculties. He explained that the evaluation process was based on precise and specific criteria, including leadership and strategy, planning and management, human and material resources, governance and innovation, customer satisfaction, and the impact of institutional performance. He emphasized that the first edition of the Fayoum University Award for Internal Excellence celebration is not merely a tribute, but rather the fruit of a comprehensive institutional effort led by a belief that excellence cannot be handed down, but is created through hard work, built through persistence, and sustained through development. This award translates the orientations of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence within the university and redefines the concept of competition between colleges based on quality, innovation, and improved institutional performance. This journey spans multiple stages, starting with the selection and training of college ambassadors and deputies, through the selection and preparation of evaluators, and ending with the judging stage and the announcement of the final results.
Prof. Assem Al-Essawy added that Fayoum University plays a prominent role in serving the community as a national institution that seeks to build human capital through community initiatives, comprehensive development convoys, and interdisciplinary projects that directly address human life.
Prof. Sherif El-Attar spoke about the university's role in building outstanding students through developing and improving educational programs across various faculties, as well as further integrating them into student activities, training them, and equipping them with life skills to become distinguished graduates who benefit themselves and their community.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the top four winning faculties were honored—the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Nursing—and presented them with the university shields and certificates of appreciation to their ambassadors, deputies, and work teams. The top three winning faculties will then be promoted to compete for the national award (the Egypt Award for Government Excellence). The internal awards team, internal residents, and the ambassadors and deputies of the remaining faculties were also honored.
