New Student Reception at the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom

Under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and the supervision of Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Arafa Sabry Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Supervisor of the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom, attended the reception ceremony for new students at the faculty on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Salah Al-Ashry, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Essam Amria, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Mohamed Ajila, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Wael Tobar, Professor of Islamic History and General Coordinator of Student Activities at the University; and Dr. Ehab Khaled, Lecturer of Rhetoric and Literary Criticism and Coordinator of Student Activities at the Faculty, along with a host of faculty members, department heads, administrators, and students. Prof. Arafa Sabry expressed his happiness at being at the college, congratulating the new students on the occasion of the start of the new academic year, as well as on the occasion of the fifty-second anniversary of the glorious October 1973 victories, from which we draw inspiration for the spirit of victory, determination, and perseverance for the advancement of our beloved country, Egypt.
He emphasized that the College of Dar Al-Uloom is the "home of eminent scholars," with its distinguished academic figures in various disciplines. He urged students to benefit from the knowledge of their professors, attend lectures regularly, and listen to the Arabic language taught by its native speakers and scholars.
Prof. Salah Al-Ashry also emphasized his pride in belonging to the College of Dar Al-Uloom, this prestigious college that has graduated scholars and writers in the fields of Arabic language, jurisprudence, philosophy, and Islamic history. He called on his students to actively participate in the student cultural, scientific, social, and artistic activities organized through the Youth Welfare Office, emphasizing the importance of communication between students and faculty members. He highlighted the college's literacy initiative, calling on every student to contribute to the literacy of at least four individuals annually, as part of the college's community-based role and service to the nation. He emphasized that his office is always open to students to listen to their suggestions and follow up on their activities.
In his speech, Prof. Essam Amria emphasized that all college members, including deans, faculty members, support staff, administrators, and the Student Union, are partners in the journey of success and development. He wished the students a fruitful academic year filled with diligence, hard work, and active participation in various activities, which play a vital role in building the integrated personality of university students.
Prof. Mohamed Ajila explained that the college's motto is embodied in an equation whose essence is "knowledge, work, and morals." He emphasized that knowledge is fruitful only when combined with work and morals. Through knowledge, minds are built, through work, nations are constructed, and through morals, values and societies are preserved. He pointed out that the college's students represent a generation of philosophers and historians capable of carrying the message of knowledge and morals to society. Prof. Wael Tobar also expressed his happiness at the participation of Fayoum University Union students with their colleagues from the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom in the celebration. He praised the spirit of cooperation and active participation among them, emphasizing that the ceremony is an annual tradition designed to instill a sense of belonging and familiarize new students with the college's values and mission.
At the end of his speech, he paid tribute to the nation's righteous martyrs on the anniversary of the glorious October victories, emphasizing that their sacrifices will remain a badge of honor on the foreheads of every Egyptian.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the college students presented a variety of artistic and cultural performances that were admired by the audience.
