Under the auspices of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Assem Al-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, inspected the Dairy Model Unit and the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory at the Faculty of Agriculture. The visit was attended by Prof. Bothaina Youssef Fouad, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Mr. Ahmed Rashad, Secretary General of the University, Prof. Gamal Farag, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Imam, Director of the Agricultural Experiments and Research Center, Dr. Hamdy Abdel Naby, Director of the Tissue Culture Laboratory, Mr. Abdel Nasser Bakry, Director General of the General Administration for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Awadallah, Director of the Faculty, Eng. Israa Abdel Gawad and Eng. Aliaa Owais, production engineers at the unit, and a number of faculty members and employees. The visit took place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Faculty laboratories. Prof. Assem El-Essawy stated that maintenance work on the Dairy Unit has been completed and that it has fully resumed operations. The unit produces and distributes cheese and dairy products through the Faculty of Agriculture outlets. He noted that the unit is one of the best dairy and cheese manufacturing units in Fayoum Governorate.

He also inspected the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory, which specializes in the production of new seedlings and plant propagation processes, with the aim of supporting and qualifying researchers and students in various disciplines. The laboratory is equipped with highly efficient capabilities that meet the educational requirements of the university, preparing distinguished academic and training cadres.

Prof. Bothaina Youssef Fouad explained that manufacturing processes at the Model Dairy Unit are carried out without the use of preservatives or vegetable oils. The production line includes a U.F. device for producing refrigerated cheese free of vegetable oils, the only one of its kind in the governorate. It also includes pasteurization and heat exchange devices, a homogenization device for breaking down fats, cans, and storage refrigerators, all according to the highest quality standards. The unit also trains students and graduates in dairy product manufacturing skills, in line with labor market requirements.
