Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, attended the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the "Prince of Poets" competition, organized by the General Administration for Student Welfare across all university faculties, from October 27 to 29, 2020, under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University,.

The judging panel included:

Prof. Walid Saeed El-Shemy, Head of the Rhetoric Department at the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom; Prof. Kamal Abdel Aziz Ibrahim, Professor Emeritus in the Rhetoric Department at the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom; and Prof. Ehab Mohamed El-Sayed El-Moqrany, Professor in the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Arts.

The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Wael Tobar, General Coordinator of Student Activities at the University; Ms. Salwa Ahmed Fouad, Director General of Student Welfare; and a number of administrators and students. It took place on Wednesday, November 5, 2020, at the University's Central Library.

Prof. Sherif El-Attar affirmed that Fayoum University places great importance on encouraging and nurturing the talents of its students, recognizing the crucial role these talents play in building well-rounded and balanced personalities. He urged students to actively participate in diverse student activities—cultural, artistic, and athletic—as an essential part of university life.
|
It is worth noting that the "Prince of Poets" festival (classical and colloquial Arabic poetry) took place over three days and witnessed wide participation of students from various faculties.
|
Forty-five students competed in classical Arabic poetry, with the top five poems advancing to the final round. Meanwhile, sixty students participated in colloquial Arabic poetry, with five qualifying for the final stage.

At the conclusion of the festival, the judging panel announced the final results as follows:

At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Sherif Al-Attar honored the winning students and presented them with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their outstanding talents and active participation in the festival.
