Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Assem Fouad El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Somaya El-Sayed Gouda, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Science, attended the seminar titled “Start Your Project,” organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in cooperation with the Enterprise Development Agency.
In attendance were Prof. Dr. Abdelkarim Abdel Latif, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Roubi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; several faculty members and their assistants; administrative staff; and students of the faculty. The seminar was held on Sunday, 27/10/2024, in the Conference Hall at the Faculty of Science.
During the seminar, Mr. Mostafa Helal, Entrepreneurship Program Officer at the Enterprise Development Agency, stated that the primary goal of the agency is to promote a culture of self-employment. He explained that the agency provides financial services, including loans and funding for small, medium, and micro enterprises, as well as non-financial services such as training courses on feasibility studies, technical skills, marketing support, and assistance with obtaining tax documents or commercial records quickly for existing projects.
He also emphasized that the amount of funding should match the size of the intended project and that preparing a business plan or feasibility study is essential to determine the appropriate amount of support. He added that there are two types of default: willful default, which results from negligence in operating the project and leads to legal accountability; and unintentional default, caused by unforeseen circumstances, such as an electrical short circuit that damages the project.
