The unit seeks to provide the following services:
- Preparing protection plans for Faculty facilities.
- Developing emergency and evacuation plans and implementing simulation scenarios on how to act during a crisis.
- Ensuring the efficiency of fire-fighting systems and their compliance with standards to secure Faculty facilities.
- Continuous communication and cooperation with the Civil Defense and Protection Unit at the University.
- Promoting awareness of safety and security through seminars and educational lectures.
- Preparing educational studies related to implementing and applying the standards stipulated in civil defense regulations for various activities and facilities within the Faculty.
- Enhancing the efficiency of unit staff and encouraging them to attend specialized training courses.
- Studying and analyzing crises and disasters based on occurrences in other locations and developing scenarios to address shortcomings.
- Providing information and data with full transparency.
- Preparing preventive and remedial programs.
- Raising health awareness, especially in preventive medicine in case of epidemics such as (Avian Influenza and Swine Flu).
- Ensuring the availability of first aid requirements in case of emergencies.
- Coordinating with relevant authorities, especially hospitals, to develop mechanisms for handling crises.
