program's Mission :

Building a human wealth that is capable - with its knowledge, skill and emotional construction - to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market in the 21st century through distinguished quality programs and scientific research that contribute to the dissemination and application of knowledge through a local and international community partnership to enrich scientific interaction, cultural diversity and improve the quality of life

Objectives of the Department :

1. Providing the student with basic knowledge in the field of Sociology and its relationship to other sciences

2. Employing scientific research skills in tracing social phenomena and analyzing them in the light of the past and present in order to explore the future alternative solutions to social problems.

3. Providing the student with the skills of conducting applied research in the field of Sociology and effective community participation

4. Developing the necessary skills in effective criticism and creative work to bridge the gap between theory and practice

5. Practicing social work in local community institutions

6. Providing social counseling to all segments of society and its institutions

7. Providing students with the culture of citizenship, social responsibility and teamwork

8. Forming an effective, professional and innovative citizen capable of working efficiently and distinctively

9. Providing the student with computer skills and information technology means

10. Acquiring students planning and evaluation skills for social development projects

11. Introducing students to schools of thought, their theories and applications in social sciences

12. Providing the student with the skills of using and employing of the English language in the study and understanding of social sciences

13. Developing the student's skills in dealing with various sources of knowledge in the field of social sciences
