Student Unions Training Course

  On the sidelines of the student unions training course, Fayoum University received members of student unions on Friday, January 25, 2008.Members o student unions are considered the first group of students who have a direct and indirect impact on their colleagues. They seem to have the inclination to go on the social work in the civil society after graduation. Thus, it becomes a must to develop a set of educational systems and mechanisms to improve the level of these elite as well as their leadership and creativity skills.

On this basis, the program aims to make the students recognize the reality and meet the political and executive leaders face-to-face. It also provides them with an opportunity to effectively participate in dialogue, and to understand and analyzing the reality.

The course aims to:

*provide the members of student unions with the basics related to the Egyptian political, economic, social reality as well as information related to the laws and regulations governing the student activities inside universities
*supporting the positive trends and deepening the patriotic feeling of members of student unions through displaying the military, political, economic, social achievements made by the Egyptian government
*developing the behavioral skills of members of student unions such as punctuality, discipline, ways of dialogue, respecting the other as well as the social skills tied to leadership, ethics of the university student
*giving the opportunity to meet the sectors leaders and scholars including those who are prominent in the field of private business and institutions of civil society

the following activities will be held during the course

*Sports activities
Soccer, table tennis (men and women) – Arm wrestling (men and women) – pull rope
*Cultural activities
(Poetry – vernacular poetry – wall magazines – historic figures – short story – essay)
*Artistic activities
(Instant drawing – sculpture printing – group song – individual talents – folklore heritage – artists' imitation – religious chanting)
*social activities and trips
