In the framework of enhancing the practical skills of the students of the Tourist Guidance Department
A scientific field visit was organized for fourth-level students of the department to the Mamluk Necropolis in Cairo on Saturday, March 7, 2026, as part of the practical requirements of the course (Tourist Guidance 6)
The students were accompanied by
Mr. Ayman Ismail,
Assistant Lecturer of the Department,
who provided field explanations, clarifications, and practical training focusing on equipping students with archaeological interpretation skills and recognizing the unique architectural features of the Mamluk era
Additionally, the training covered explanations of several important domes and funerary structures, including Dome of Qunsuwa Abu Saeed, Complex of Sultan Inal, Complex of Emir Qarqumas “Grand Emir”, Dome of Asfour, and Dome of Yashbak
These periodic visits organized by the department aim to link academic knowledge with professional reality, preparing students to efficiently engage with open archaeological sites, thereby contributing to the training of distinguished tourist guides who represent Egyptian tourism honorably
