During
the workshop, journalist Mohamed Mandour thanked Fayoum University for its
excellent organization and warm welcome. He explained that media is
fundamentally about news, and crafting a news story is not merely a casual
account of an event, but a meticulous process aimed at conveying the event from
reality to the reader's consciousness in the fastest and most truthful way
possible. This enhances the institution's public image and builds mutual trust
between the institution and its audience.
He
emphasized the importance of adhering to academic and visual identity when
crafting news stories and avoiding exaggeration. He also stressed the need to
review sources and coordinate with the Public Relations and Media Department to
ensure the media vision aligns with the institution's objectives.
Furthermore,
he discussed the rules of journalistic writing, its requirements, and how to
utilize numbers, dates, and names. He also highlighted the skills necessary to
write a compelling news story that engages the reader without boring them. Such
a story should be concise, engaging, and accurate, while avoiding ambiguity or
exaggeration.
