Fayoum University Organizes Workshop Titled: “Crisis Management for a Safe Work Environment” at the Research and Strategic Studies Institute for Nile Basin CountriesUnder the patronage of Prof. Dr. Yasser Magdy Hattata, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Asem Fouad El-Esawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel Sattar Abdelhady, Dean of the Institute, and Dr. Eman El-Hamamsy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Institute organized a workshop titled: “Crisis Management for a Safe Work Environment”, in cooperation with the University’s Crisis and Disaster Management Center.The workshop aimed to strengthen awareness of the concept of crisis management in the work environment, develop early preparedness skills and effective handling of crises and emergencies, as well as introduce methods of risk reduction and occupational safety and prevention mechanisms. This contributes to consolidating a culture of security and safety within institutions and providing a safe and sustainable work environment that supports institutional stability.The workshop was lectured by Prof. Dr. Taher Hassan Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Director of the University’s Crisis and Disaster Management Center. He addressed the fundamentals of occupational safety and health as one of the most important pillars for achieving quality of work life, emphasizing the importance of health education and keeping up with modern developments to create a contemporary and safe work environment.He also stressed the need to pay attention to psychological occupational safety and health, and to avoid noise and various distractions in the workplace. He explained the risks of inadequate or excessive ventilation and lighting and the potential health and psychological harm to employees. This requires regular inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment and services within the institution, and continuous monitoring for early detection of problems and addressing them before they escalate into crises. He affirmed that taking preventive measures is the fundamental pillar for managing crises efficiently and effectively.The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sayed Said, former Dean of the Institute; Dr. Hamed Al-Asfoury, Head of the Department of Geographic Studies; Ms. Lamiaa Adel, Institute Director; Mr. Abdel Rahman Adel, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Geographic Studies; along with the administrative staff and employees of the Institute.
