Under
the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University,
Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental
Development, attended a seminar entitled "Your Decision Today Shapes Your
Future Tomorrow." The seminar featured presentations by Prof. Salah
Hashem, Dean of the Faculty of Social Work; Dr. Ahmed Haroun El-Sherif,
President of the Arab Foundation for Psychological Sciences; and Mr.
Abdel-Hakim El-Lawaj, broadcaster and presenter on Al-Hadath Al-Youm satellite
channel. The event was also attended by several deans and vice-deans, faculty
members, staff, and students, and took place on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the
Central Library.
Prof.
Assem El-Essawy explained that the future is no longer a matter of chance or
luck, but rather a direct reflection of the decisions individuals make in the
present. He emphasized that "Your Decision Today Shapes Your Future
Tomorrow" is no longer just a motivational saying, but a reality supported
by experiences of both success and failure. Since decisions determine the
entire course of one's life, whether related to education, work,
self-development, or time management, the results gradually emerge, shaping the
future.
Prof.
Salah Hashem stated that the youth face
significant challenges amidst the multitude of choices and pressures of life,
making the ability to make sound decisions an essential skill that must be
cultivated. He emphasized the importance of long-term thinking and avoiding
impulsive decisions that may seem tempting but lack foresight.
For his
part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sharif explained that the surrounding environment plays a
crucial role in shaping decisions, as family, education, and media influence
the formation of individuals' awareness. He urged the youth to cultivate a
culture of awareness and decision-making based on knowledge, moving away from
randomness or blind imitation.
He
affirmed that technological advancements and the proliferation of information
have facilitated access to knowledge more than ever before, giving individuals
a greater opportunity to make more conscious and responsible decisions. He
stressed that personal will and self-discipline are the decisive factors in translating
this knowledge into actions.
