Council, representatives of relevant university departments and centers, and
representatives from the public and private tourism sectors, as well as
business leaders. The workshop took place on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Faculty.
Prof.
Assem El-Essawy emphasized the importance of the partnership between Fayoum
University and the private tourism sector, especially given that this sector is
one of the most important pillars of the national economy. He added that
providing students with outstanding training and practical opportunities
contributes to honing their skills and aligning them with the actual demands of
the market.
He
added that the university offers its full support to enhance cooperation with
all tourism institutions, ensuring optimal benefit for all parties, in
accordance with academic standards and the application of modern technologies
needed by the employment sector to qualify graduates.
Prof.
Sherif El-Attar also explained that Fayoum University is committed to
developing curricula and educational programs to align with the evolving needs
of the tourism job market, in accordance with the state's strategy. The
university is also working to integrate modern applied and training courses
into its academic programs, which students begin studying from their first day
at the university. These courses focus on communication skills, languages, and
tourism technology. He emphasized the importance of field training as an
integral part of the educational process, particularly in the fields of hotels,
tourism companies, tour guiding, and hospitality-related services. He noted
that this objective is achieved through joint academic cooperation within the
university and practical collaboration through government and private sector
partners.
Prof. Taher
Hassan stated that the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels is continuously developing
its academic programs to meet labor market demands, bridging the gap between
academic skills and market needs. This gap represents a significant challenge
that the faculty strives to overcome through various mechanisms, including
training partnerships and field visits. He added that the faculty welcomes all
forms of cooperation with private sector tourism and hospitality institutions to
achieve an executive vision aimed at developing young people's skills and
increasing their employment opportunities.
The
opening session was moderated by Prof. Emad Abdel Salam, Director of the
