Fayoum University President Participates in the Closing Ceremony of the
12th African University Games "Cairo 2026"
Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa—Minister of
Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture—and Dr.
Ashraf Sobhy—President of the African University Sports Federation and
Vice-Chairman of the event's Higher Committee—attended the closing ceremony of
the 12th African University Games ("Cairo 2026"). Hosted
by Egypt from September 8 to 16, the event was attended by Mr. Marko Zunic,
Executive Committee Member of the International University Sports Federation
(FISU); Dr. Ahmed Kamel Mahdy, Chairman of the Organizing Committee; Dr. Hisham
Ahmed Ali, Tournament Director; and a host of university presidents, officials
from relevant ministries, the African University Sports Federation, and the
Egyptian University Sports Federation, alongside members of participating
delegations. The ceremony took place at the cycling velodrome of the Cairo
International Stadium.
