Under the
auspices of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof.
Assem Fouad El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental
Development and Supervisor of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector, attended
the meeting of the Higher Committee for Scientific Research Ethics - Scientific
Integrity No. (38) and the meeting of the Committee for the Care and Use of
Animals in Education and Scientific Research No. (3(.
The meeting
was attended by Prof. Zaher Ahmed Mohamed, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for
Research Ethics, Prof. Sawsan Abdel Aziz Sadek, Chairman of the Animal Care
Committee, and members of both committees. The meeting was held on Monday,
October 27, 2025, at the Faculty of Agriculture.
Professor
Dr. Assem El-Essawy welcomed the members of both committees, extending his
sincere thanks and appreciation for their dedicated efforts in serving Fayoum
University staff. He also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to Prof.
Arafa Sabry Hassan, Former Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and
Research, in appreciation of his distinguished efforts in promoting the Postgraduate
Studies and Research Sector and the university as a whole.
He noted
that the Supreme Council of Universities' decision regarding customs clearance
mechanisms for samples used for clinical medical research was reviewed. The
preliminary approvals issued by the Chairman of the Higher Committee
authorizing nine research projects were also approved.
The
committee also discussed a number of research projects submitted by eighteen
researchers, with a view to obtaining approval in light of the ethical
standards specified in the Ethical Code of Conduct for Postgraduate Studies and
Scientific Research at Fayoum University.
He added
that the preliminary approvals issued by the Chairman of the Animal Care and
Use Committee in Education and Scientific Research authorizing six research
projects were also approved, in light of the ethical standards specified in the
Ethical Code of Conduct for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Fayoum
University. The topics on the agenda were also discussed.
