In
light of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific
Research regarding the suspension of in-person classes at universities and
institutes, and given the unstable weather conditions as reported by the
Egyptian Meteorological Authority, Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of
Fayoum University, issued a decision to suspend classes on Wednesday and
Thursday, March 25th and 26th, and to postpone all examinations scheduled
during that period. This decision was made to ensure the safety of students and
staff, and in line with the precautionary measures taken by the state to
address the severe weather.
He also
issued a decision granting students, faculty members, and university staff an
exceptional leave of absence for the aforementioned two days. This leave
excludes medical staff at university hospitals, university security personnel,
employees in occupational health and safety departments, those on duty, and
those whose work requires their presence.
He
further directed that developments be monitored closely and that all necessary
measures be taken to protect the university community.
