Fayoum
University welcomed a French delegation to strengthen partnerships in French Language
Education and Curriculum Development, as well as to explore avenues of
cooperation between Fayoum University, represented by its Faculty of Al-Alsun,
and Aix-Marseille University in France. The visit, which took place on April
27-28, 2026, was held under the auspices of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata,
President of Fayoum University. The delegation included Amélie Leconte and
Pierre-Yves Dufeu, and was attended by several faculty members of the
university's French department.
Prof.
Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, noted that
this visit reflects the depth of academic relations between Egyptian and French
universities. He emphasized Fayoum University's commitment to expanding
international cooperation and benefiting from French expertise in developing
the educational and research process, particularly in the fields of languages
and literature.
Prof.
Naglaa Saad, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, added that the visit included
fruitful discussions on mechanisms for joint cooperation, training and academic
exchange programs, and ways to support the teaching of French-language courses
within Egyptian universities, contributing to raising students' efficiency and
enhancing their scientific and cultural skills.
The
French delegation also toured the Faculty of Al-Alsun and the Faculty of
Arts, where they met with faculty members and students, viewed the educational
facilities and specialized laboratories, and commended the students' outstanding
academic level and the efforts made in developing French language teaching
programs.
During
the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing this
constructive cooperation, considering it a new horizon for academic partnership
between Egyptian and French educational institutions and a practical
manifestation of both parties' commitment to strengthening scientific and
cultural exchange in a way that serves the quality of higher education.
