Prof. Sherif Al-Attar, Acting President of Fayoum University and Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, received a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as part of the Safety and Quality of Health Services Care Program organized by the Faculty of Medicine at Fayoum University, in the presence of Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Dean of the Faculty, today, Sunday, 8/9/2026.

Prof. Sherif Al-Attar stated that the program aims to train 20 doctors from 9 African countries: “Mozambique - Uganda - Malawi - Ghana - Angola - Tanzania - Zambia - Somalia - Gabon” during the period from August 2 to August 20, 2026, noting that the training takes place on the quality and safety of health services, the management of hospitals and health institutions, the exchange of experiences, the preparation of plans, and the solution of health sector problems.

He stressed Fayoum University's keenness to receive many researchers, trainees and students from various friendly African countries within the framework of close historical relations with the countries of the continent.

Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny explained that the Faculty of Medicine is keen to organize this program in cooperation with the Japanese Cooperation Authority on a periodic basis, within the framework of enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences in the medical fields, while developing the program’s objectives and themes from one session to another in a way that keeps pace with scientific developments and current challenges in various medical specialties.
