Prof. Sherif
Mohamed Sabry El-Attar, Acting Presideent of Fayoum University and Vice
President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Assem Fouad El-Essawy,
Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, attended a
celebration organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development
Sector for international students. The event, held on the occasion of Saudi
National Day, was titled "May Your Glory Endure, O Homeland."
The
event took place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Language and
Translation Center. It was attended by Mr. Walid Ali Gomaa, Director General of
Postgraduate Studies and Research; Mr. Abdel Nasser Bakry, Director General of
the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector; Dr. Amal Galal,
Director of the Language and Translation Center; and Ms. Rasha Helmy, the
official in charge of international postgraduate students.
Prof.
Sherif El-Attar welcomed the students from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who are
pursuing postgraduate studies at the university. He emphasized that Fayoum
University is always pleased to welcome international students from Arab
nations and is committed to providing the academic resources and supportive
educational environment necessary to help them achieve their academic and
research goals.
He also
praised the strength and solidity of Egyptian-Saudi relations, highlighting the
deep historical ties uniting the two countries and their peoples, and noting
that these relations serve as an exemplary model of cooperation and brotherhood
between Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
For his
part, Prof. Assem El-Essawy noted that the celebration was attended by 12 Saudi
international students, representing more than 250 Saudi students currently
enrolled in postgraduate programs across the university's various faculties. He
reaffirmed Fayoum University's commitment to supporting international students
and providing an academic environment that fosters their scholarly and research
endeavors.
Prof. Amal Galal extended her congratulations
to Saudi students on the occasion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National
Day, emphasizing that the event reflects sentiments of pride and appreciation
for their Saudi brethren and embodies the deep-rooted ties and bonds uniting
the Egyptian and Saudi peoples.
During
the celebration, Saudi researchers studying at Fayoum University expressed
their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the university’s leadership for
their efforts in fostering an outstanding academic and scholarly environment.
They also acknowledged the university's commitment to caring for international
students and researchers and providing them with comprehensive support, noting
that Fayoum University has become a second home to them during their studies.
The
celebration included a video screening of a speech by Saudi Crown Prince
Mohammed bin Salman, highlighting the strength and solidity of Egyptian-Saudi
relations, as well as the historical depth and enduring bonds shared by the two
countries and their fraternal peoples.
