Affairs—a reception ceremony for new students was held today, Wednesday,
September 23, 2026, at the Faculty of Engineering’s conference hall. The event
was attended by Prof. Assem Fouad El-Essawy, Vice President for Community
Service and Environmental Development (and Supervisor of the Postgraduate
Studies, Cultural Relations, and Research sector); Prof. Mona Hassan Soliman,
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Mr. Ahmed Rashad, University
Secretary-General; Prof. Ahmed Serag Farid, Vice Dean for Education and Student
Affairs; Prof. Rania Abu El-Saoud, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Cultural

Prof. Assem El-Essawy emphasized that the university provides full
support to its students—whether in academics, research, or student
activities—placing the student at the heart of its priorities and dedicating
all its resources to serving them and overcoming any obstacles they may face.
He urged the new students to maintain continuous communication with
senior students to enrich their knowledge, exchange experiences, and acquire
new skills. He noted that learning extends beyond lectures; students also learn
from their seniors—who have already navigated this path and possess practical
knowledge and advice—helping them address many of the challenges they might
encounter during their academic and professional journeys. Prof. Mona Hassan
Soliman welcomed the attendees on this special day dedicated to welcoming the
new students. She emphasized that the Faculty of Engineering serves as both an
academic and practical home for students throughout their studies, aiming to
prepare a generation that is academically and skillfully qualified to become
ambassadors for Fayoum University across all sectors.
She added that the engineering sector acts as the true engine of
development for any society, as it is responsible for designing and
implementing infrastructure and major national projects, as well as driving the
progress necessary for national advancement—goals that cannot be achieved
without qualified engineers capable of keeping pace with technological advancements.
She noted that the Faculty boasts a strong track record of scientific and
research achievements across various engineering disciplines and comprises an
outstanding team of faculty members, assistant staff, and administrators.
For his part, Prof. Ahmed Serag outlined the Faculty’s academic system
and its various departments. He welcomed student inquiries and highlighted the
assignment of academic advisors to assist in resolving issues. He also stressed
the importance of adhering to academic regulations and attending lectures
regularly, while encouraging students to actively participate in various

genuine starting point for self-discovery, talent development, and forging
friendships. He highlighted how these activities instill values of
cooperation and foster diverse student skills, ultimately preparing students to
become future leaders.
