On Monday, March 2, 2026, at 9:00 AM, the Department of Geographical Studies Council convened, chaired by Dr. Hamed Hamed Mohamed Awad El-Asfoury, Assistant Professor of Physical Geography and Acting Head of the Department of Geographical Studies Council, and attended by the following members: Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohamed Ibrahim Hassouna, Professor of Human Geography (Full-time) and former Dean of the Institute; Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdel-Sattar Abdel-Hadi, Professor of Physical Geography in the Department, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Acting Dean of the Institute; and Dr. Ahmed Mostafa Gomaa Abdel-Wahed, Lecturer of Population Geography in the Department and Secretary of the Department of Geographical Studies Council. Dr. Hamed Hamed Mohamed Awad El-Asfoury, Acting Head of the Council, began his speech with "Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim" and welcomed the attendees, then proceeded to discuss topics related to the department in preparation for presentation to the Postgraduate Studies Committee and the Institute Council.
