Closing Ceremony of the Grand Scientific Field Trip for Tourism Guidance Students to Luxor and Aswan

The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels – Fayoum University has concluded one of its largest field training tours, designed to hone the skills of Tourism Guidance Department students through an extensive seven-day scientific trip to the cities of Luxor and Aswan.

The trip was organized under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Taher Hassan Mohamed, Acting Dean of the Faculty and Acting Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and with the direct field presence and supervision of Prof. Dr. Walid El-Hadi Sheikh El-Arab, Head of the Department of Tourism Guidance.

Field Program Itinerary: The intensive program comprised integrated tours linking academic curricula with practical field application across four key stations. In Aswan, visits included the High Dam, the temples of Philae, Kalabsha, and Abu Simbel, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the Qubbet el-Hawa area. En route between the two cities, students stopped at Kom Ombo and Edfu temples to study the evolution of Egyptian architecture. In Luxor, the East Bank program covered Karnak and Luxor temples, the Luxor Museum, the Mummification Museum, and the Sound and Light Show, while the West Bank tours included Deir el-Bahari, the Valley of the Kings, and Medinet Habu. The trip was crowned with a visit to Dendera Temple, featuring a unique artistic and astronomical study of the famous Zodiac scenes.
