The Faculty of Medicine at Fayoum University organized an introductory session for the "National Reading Project," under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of the University, and Prof. Sherif Al-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs
The session was held under the supervision of Prof. Naglaa Elsherbiny, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Mohamed Salah, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Wael Tobar, General Coordinator of Student Activities, and Prof. Adel Salem, Coordinator of the National Reading Project at the University, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026
This project aligns with Egypt Vision 2030, which focuses on developing knowledge, skills, and creativity, while enhancing the education, learning, innovation, and scientific research systems starting from schools and universities to all segments of society through sustainable reading and book summarization
The project spans ten months, from last October to August of this year, and includes daily training on reading and summarization skills. Students can register and participate through the dedicated link:
The competition is divided into three levels
Silver Level: Reading and summarizing 30 books
Gold Level: Reading and summarizing 50 books
Diamond Level: Reading and summarizing 100 books. Top winners receive trophies, certificates of appreciation, and valuable monetary prizes
On the sidelines of the meeting, a book fair was inaugurated to encourage students to read, organized by Dr. Miran Harhash, the faculty's project coordinator, in cooperation with the Youth Welfare Department, the Student Union, "Students for Egypt," and the Fayoum Medical Students' Association (FMSA).
