As part of the commitment of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels – Fayoum University to fulfilling its community role, and contributing to raising awareness of the importance of preserving Egyptian civilizational heritage as a legacy for future generations, Assistant Professor Randa Wagdy Nasr, Assistant Professor at the Department of Tourist Guidance, participated on a voluntary basis in the work of a specialized unit for restoring the historical artifacts of the Coptic Egyptian Church at the Monastery of Saint Anba Makar the Great in Wadi El Natrun.
This participation aims to contribute to protecting civilizational heritage and preserving historical artifacts, as well as to helping train and prepare future generations to fulfill their role in preserving this heritage.
On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, inaugurated the new building of the Ecclesiastical Artifacts Restoration Unit at the Monastery of Saint Anba Makar the Great in Wadi El Natrun, during which Assistant Professor Randa Wagdy Nasr and a number of members of the restoration team were honored by His Holiness, in recognition of their participation and efforts in this field.
This reflects the commitment of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels – Fayoum University and its faculty members to active participation in community and voluntary activities within their fields of specialization, thereby strengthening the Faculty's role in serving the community and preserving Egypt's civilizational heritage.
