The seminar aimed to raise students’ awareness of the importance of supporting literacy and community enlightenment initiatives and to strengthen their role in spreading awareness and actively serving the community, with the participation of a number of the Faculty’s students and staff.

Prof. Dr. Mervat Abdel-Hady pointed to the Faculty’s commitment to strengthening its community engagement, spreading awareness among students and staff of the importance of literacy, and following up on efforts in this field as a national duty.

Prof. Dr. Amal Rabie Kamel addressed the role of community members and the University in confronting ignorance in all its forms and supporting adult education and literacy, stressing the importance of sustaining efforts to combat illiteracy in Fayoum Governorate and of strengthening individuals’ ability to apply their basic skills to the challenges of daily life.

The seminar also discussed a number of important societal issues, including information illiteracy, the war of rumors, the “Through Awareness, We Protect Her” initiative, early marriage, violence, and electronic blackmail, in addition to introducing the goals and themes of the Community Enlightenment Project.

Because awareness is the foundation of progress, and knowledge is the first line of defense against ignorance and rumors, the Faculty continues its efforts to support national initiatives aimed at spreading awareness, consolidating the values of social responsibility, and contributing to building a society that is more aware and better able to face challenges.

This seminar comes within the University’s and its institutions’ commitment to strengthening social responsibility and supporting national initiatives that spread knowledge and awareness, contributing to sustainable development.
